PENN TWP – Residents are invited to attend a town hall meeting with State Representative Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler) at the Pittsburgh-Butler Regional Airport, formerly the Butler County Airport.
The event is on Monday, Jan. 9, beginning at 8:30 a.m. It will be held in Serventi’s Restaurant, located on the second floor of the terminal building at 473 Airport Road, Butler, PA 16002.
Coffee and refreshments will be served.
Covering southern Butler County, the 12th Legislative District includes Adams, Clinton, Cranberry, Forward, Middlesex and Penn townships; and Callery, Mars, Seven Fields and Valencia boroughs.
Everyone is welcome. This is the first in a series of community events planned for the airport this year.
The helping hands at Hosanna Industries have made construction of new homes and rehabilitation of existing houses a hallmark of the organization’s charitable activities. Often, those volunteers build an entire home for a qualifying family in just one day.
Tenants at the Pittsburgh-Butler Regional Airport, as part of their holiday festivities, responded to that mission by holding a one-day “Lend a Hand” campaign of its own. Tenants and visitors at the airport’s Christmas party at Serventi’s restaurant on December 17 donated 53 pair of leather work gloves and $130 in gift cards to popular hardware stores.
Hosanna’s founder the Rev. Donn Ed and representative Amanda Becker attended the event to graciously accept the gifts that will be used in future projects.
If you missed the party, you’re still invited to join the effort. Visit Hosanna’s Website here for a link to make a direct donation: http://hosannaindustries.org
FREE DRONE SEMINAR
PENN TWP – The Pittsburgh–Butler Regional Airport (formerly the Butler County Airport) will host a free seminar about drones on Dec. 17.
Getting a drone for Christmas? You aren’t alone. According to the FAA, registration of Unmanned Aircraft Systems, or drones, now outnumbers manned aircraft registration in the United States.
Learn about the regulations that apply to drone flying from a representative of the FAA, followed by a flight demonstration and a question and answer period.
The seminar is 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. It will be held rain or shine inside a hangar at the Pittsburgh-Butler Regional Airport, 475 Airport Road, Butler, 16002.
To register for this event, go to ButlerCountyAirport.org and click in the drone seminar registration. Seating is limited. Although the event is free, participants are asked to bring pair of new leather gloves to be donated to the airport’s “Lend a Hand” drive benefiting Hosanna Industries.
NORTH POLE – In a super secret pre-Christmas ritual, Santa annually stops by The Pittsburgh-Butler Regional Airport to check on fellow pilots.
